Dispute Settlement Centre of Victoria
Manager Service and People Development
A senior leadership position focused on providing strategic and change management support to the Director, while delivering on the business strategy through a diverse team of people. The team consists of seven direct reports comprising of a Corporate Services Manager, Customer Engagement Project Manager, ICT Manager, Training and Development Manager, Community Engagement Manager, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Specialist and a Data Analyst.
Acting as a 2IC to the Director I hold accountability across three major aspects of the organization:
Manager Service and People Development

- design and implementation of quality and people capability frameworks, including organisational performance measurement frameworks
- design and implementation of a citizen centered service delivery model
- revenue generation to fund transformation activities through provision of fee-for-service training.

Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre
Redevelopment Workforce Transition Lead
The Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) Project delivered a purpose-built facility for cancer research, treatment, care and education in Parkville, the heart of Melbourne’s research and biomedical precinct.
The VCCC Project was delivered as a Public Private Partnership under the State Government’s Partnerships Victoria policy.
The project provided a new home for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and new cancer research and clinical services for Melbourne Health (including the Royal Melbourne Hospital), new cancer research facilities for The University of Melbourne and new education facilities for all building partners.
The Redevelopment Workforce Transition Lead was a project role that had duel reporting lines to the Director, People and Capability and the Director, Redevelopment.
The role held Project Management accountability for five critical work-streams; ranging from the merging of hospital services between the partner hospitals, the outsourcing of specific functions and staff to a private provider as part of the Public Private Partnership, the transition of staff to a shared services arrangement, through to the program of work around office allocation and the associated change piece, and the successful implementation of a broader application of Active Directory within the new facility.

Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment , Wellington
Acting Manager Organisational Development
The Manager Organisational Development is a team leadership and management position in MBIE. The role is responsible for leading a largely project-based team for significant organsiational development programmes including the management and tactical direction of the collation and analysis of human resource information to support MBIE’s strategic direction.
The role is responsible for building and enhancing the overall capability of the team to ensure quality and consistency of advice and practices in relation to its work.
Leading a team of 5 direct reports comprising of two Principal OD Advisors, two senior Advisors and a Team Leader Human Resource Information Analysis.
Acting People and Capability Manager
The Ministry integrates the functions of four former agencies – the Department of Building and Housing, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Department of Labour and the Ministry of Science and Innovation, and employs approximately 3500 staff worldwide.
I was asked to take on the People and Capability Manager role during the transition from the federated state to the confirmed structure, while the incumbent was seconded to Internal Transition Manager. I was responsible for a operating budget of $1 million, and lead a team of 7 staff, who provided all HR and ER support to the Building and Housing group. I also had a responsibility to work with my peers across the four agencies to start the process of merging four HR functions into one.

The Department of Building and Housing's aim was to improve building quality and housing availability in New Zealand. It employed approximately 410 staff across New Zealand, ranging from Geo-tech and structural engineers, through to Architects and call centre staff.
I held the position of Senior People and Capability Advisor, which was a generalist role, with a portfolio of Employment Relations. I was offered the position of People and Capability Manager after three months of joining the Department.

Corrections manages more than 8,500 prisoners contained within 19 prisons throughout the country and more than 40,000 offenders serving sentences and orders in the community. Corrections employ approximately 9000 staff, and have a high level of unionization across the organisation. For frontline uniformed staff (corrections officers) unionization is at 90%. There were 13 collective agreements covering approximately 8000 staff spread across four unions.

People and Performance Advisor
Valley Flyer has a fleet of 110 buses, including the Airport Flyer service. Each year around 5 million people use these services. Valley Flyer employs approximately 250 staff, and is part of NZ Bus, which employs approximately 1,900 staff.
The role at Valley Flyer was one of a generalist, however had a very heavy ER bent given the high unionization across the drivers.
